Individual consultation

Available to all 91ɬÂþ instructors or staff seeking teaching assistance. An individual consultation may consist of an email exchange and/or a meeting. Depending on needs (and staff availability), assistance from the consultant can continue throughout the term. There is no cost for consultations. 

Unit/program consultation or workshop

Available to all or a sub-group of individuals within a unit who are analyzing, developing, or improving a teaching program. Units can also request workshops based on our regular workshop topics. There is no cost for consultations or workshops.

Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
91ɬÂþ instructors also have access to confidential support and resources to help navigate challenges related to work, life, health, family, and finances.

Confidentiality

TAP is committed to fostering a supportive environment, enabling individuals to freely reflect on and explore their teaching practices in meetings with us without concern for evaluation or judgment. We conduct pedagogical observations and provide recommendations for formative purposes (such as for fostering teaching improvement and success) and not evaluative purposes (such as for promotion, tenure, or review processes).

All information pertaining to and shared through the consultation process is considered confidential. 

This means:

  • We do not share information about consultations except with TAP staff for internal training purposes or unless we have your permission to share with others.
  • We may track and report our consultations and other activities in aggregate, but all identifying information is removed.
  • We do not initiate consultations with instructors at the request of administrators.
