This program is for students who have already completed an undergraduate degree.

Diploma in Environment (30 credits)

The Diploma in Environment is designed for students with an undergraduate degree who wish to enrich or reorient their training, supplementing their previous specialization with additional undergraduate level course work.

The Diploma requires 30 credits of full-time or part-time study. Taken full-time, the Diploma is a one year program.

Students holding a BSc or BA degree or equivalent can apply to the Diploma in Environment through the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, or the Faculty of Arts. Please see the Undergraduate 91ɬÂþ website for admissions details.

Required Courses (18 credits)






Complementary Courses (12 credits)

These will be selected from the lists below with the approval of the Program Advisor. Students will choose:

3 credits from outside the area of the student's previous degree (e.g., those with those with a B.A. degree must take 3 credits in Natural Sciences; those with a B.Sc. degree must take 3 credits in Social Sciences).Ìý

9 credits from a specific area of focus, with at least 6 credits at the 400-level or above.ÌýÌý

All courses must be at the 200 level and above, and completed with a grade of C or better.

  • Most courses listed at the 300 level and higher have prerequisites. Although instructors may waive prerequisite(s) in some cases, students are urged to prepare their program of study well before their final year.
  • Courses marked (M) are offered on the Macdonald campus.
