This presentation explores the initiatives launched by the Peruvian government since 2010 to inform and support Indigenous communities. It also highlights the linguistic challenges of translation and interpreting between Indigenous languages and Spanish, and their impact on language policy design and implementation.

Dr. Raquel de Pedro Ricoy

Professor Emerita Raquel de Pedro Ricoy is an internationally recognized scholar in translation and interpreting studies, now retired from the University of Stirling, where she held the Chair of Translation and Interpreting. Her work has focused on public‑service interpreting, language rights, and translation in Indigenous contexts.
