As part of 91ɬÂþ's bicentennial celebration, the School of Population and Global Health presents:

A Leadership Forum for Health in a New Century

Public health crises are becoming increasingly complex. The COVID-19 pandemic is indicative of a broader set of acute and chronic threats to health, health equity and well-being in the 21st century. In the face of these challenges, a high premium is being placed on leadership for health that spans the local to global and stretches across sectors and public-private divides. Through a focus on hot-topic issues and animated by thought leaders, this forum will consider how fit-for-purpose leadership for health can be nurtured more effectively through health professional training.

The Commission on Health Professionals for a New Century issued sweeping recommendations in 2010 to transform health professional education to achieve health equity. Nearly a decade after, public health crises are becoming increasingly complex and threaten health, health equity and well-being in the 21st century. To address these challenges, more focus is being placed on health leadership that spans the local to global, stretching across sectors and public-private divides.

Join experts from across fields to discuss how fit-for-purpose leadership in health can be nurtured more effectively in the training of health professionals, with panels discussion on:

• What competencies for leadership should health professional schools be nurturing?
• How should health professional institutions reform to promote leadership more effectively?
