 rom the 2015 Discovery Grants Program\, as well as an overview of the Disc
 overy Grant process including tips on “Writing a Successful Discovery Gran
 t”.  Questions and answers will be welcome throughout. You are encouraged 
 to attend this outreach session if you are planning to apply to this year’

 am assists in:\n\n	• promoting and maintaining a diversified base of high-q
 uality research capability in the natural sciences and engineering in Cana
 dian universities\;\n	• fostering research excellence\; and\n	• providing a 
 stimulating environment for research training.\n\n	The Discovery Grants Pro
 gram supports ongoing programs of research (with long-term goals) rather t
 han a single short-term project or collection of projects. These grants re
 cognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all researc
 h advances\, whether made individually or in teams. Researchers are free t
 o work in the mode most appropriate for the research area.\n\n	Recipients o
 f Discovery Grants are not restricted to the specific activities described
  in the application\, but may pursue new research interests\, provided the
