The talk will present the transitional justice system that was created in Colombia after the 2016 peace agreements. As a result of negotiation, this system seeks to use alternative forms of justice, such as restorative justice, to provide responses to the victims of international crimes. Bio

Yuri Alexander Roma単a-Rivas, an Afro-Colombian lawyer, is a current doctoral (Ph.D.) candidate in the Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) program at 91必只s Faculty of Law and anOBrien Fellow at the 91必只 Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism.

Alexandra Sandoval Mantilla is currently a Judge of the Chamber of Amnesties or Pardons and the Chairperson of the Gender Equality Commission in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP in Spanish) in Colombia and is a CHRLP Winter 2025 visiting OBrien Fellow in Residence.
