She completed her medical degree (2003) and her residency training in General Internal Medicine (2008) at 91É¬Âţ. She obtained an International MSc in Health Professions Education (2011) from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Dr. Cummings is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and an Associate Member of the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE). She previously served as Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education (2015-2019) and Assistant Dean, Health Professions Education (2021-2023) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Dr. Cummingsâ€™ past research activities in health sciences education have spanned longitudinal integrated clerkships and validity and authenticity in assessment. Her ongoing scholarship explores assessment, professionalism, and inclusion; she is a co-investigator working with FRQSC- and SSHRC-funded research teams and is a member of the Equity in Health Systems (EqHS) Lab. In 2024 she received the IHSE Research and Scholarship Catalyst Award, a peer-nominated award recognizing her longstanding commitment to supporting and facilitating research and scholarship in health sciences education.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As Vice-Dean, Education &amp;amp; Community Engagement in the FMHS, Dr. Cummings leads a network of teams and provides strategic guidance in support of the overarching educational and community engagement missions of the FMHS; this includes community engagement, Indigenous priorities, faculty enrichment and development, interprofessional education, innovative modalities of teaching and learning, and supporting education across the six Schools in the FMHS through strong working relationships with the Associate Deans and other education and community engagement leaders. She serves as a liaison between the FMHS and central university offices including the Office of the Associate Provost (Teaching and Academic Planning) and the Equity Office.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Dans ses recherches en Ă©ducation en sciences de la santĂ©, la Dre Cummings sâ€™est notamment intĂ©ressĂ©e aux externats longitudinaux intĂ©grĂ©s et aux concepts de validitĂ© et dâ€™authenticitĂ© en Ă©valuation des apprentissages. Cochercheuse dans des Ă©quipes de recherche financĂ©es par le FRQSC et le CRSH, elle est membre du laboratoire Ă‰quitĂ© dans les systĂ¨mes de santĂ© (EqHS). En 2024, elle a reĂ§u de la part de ses pairs le prix Catalyst de soutien Ă  la recherche et Ă  lâ€™avancement des connaissances de lâ€™IĂ‰SS, qui rĂ©compense son engagement de longue date en appui Ă  la recherche et Ă  lâ€™avancement des connaissances en pĂ©dagogie des sciences de la santĂ©.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Comme vice-doyenne exĂ©cutive, Ă‰ducation et engagement communautaire, la Dre Cummings assure une orientation stratĂ©gique et dirige un rĂ©seau dâ€™Ă©quipes en appui aux missions dâ€™Ă©ducation et dâ€™engagement communautaire de la FMSS, qui englobent lâ€™engagement communautaire, les prioritĂ©s autochtones, l&#039;enrichissement et le dĂ©veloppement du corps professoral, la formation interprofessionnelle et les modalitĂ©s pĂ©dagogiques novatrices. Elle est Ă©galement chargĂ©e du soutien aux programmes d&#039;enseignement des six Ă©coles de la FMSS, en Ă©troite collaboration avec leurs vice-dĂ©canats respectifs et d&#039;autres responsables de l&#039;Ă©ducation et de l&#039;engagement communautaire.
