From Stigma to Support: Conversations on Black Mental Health

On February 26, 2026, in recognition of Black History Month, 91ɬ��’s Department of Family Medicine Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, in collaboration with Concordia University’s Black Perspectives Office, hosted a timely and impactful event titled From Stigma to Support: Changing the Conversation on Black Mental Health. The session brought together clinicians, learners and community members to examine persistent inequities in mental healthcare and to explore pathways toward more equitable, culturally responsive practice.

Connected by Care: Exploring Human and Digital Integration at the 2025 Family Medicine Annual Retreat

The Department of Family Medicine held its 2025 Annual Retreat online on October 23 and 24 under the theme titled Connected by Care: Human and Digital Integration in Family Medicine. This two-part event brought together faculty from across the Department to explore the intersections of teaching, technology, equity, and clinical practice, marking an important moment of reflection and forward planning for the future of primary care in Quebec. The retreat was accredited for professional development by 91ɬ��.

On September 25, the Department of Family Medicine’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee hosted a Smudging Ceremony in its Indigenous Space, in recognition of Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The gathering offered a moment of reflection, cultural connection and shared commitment to addressing systemic inequities in health care.
