Biographie:

Claire Boone is a health economist who studies decisions in health care using quasi-experimental methods, machine learning, and behavioral science. She earned her PhD in Health Policy, Health Economics from UC Berkeley, was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and worked as a clinical research scientist at Providence Health.

Claire Boone est une économiste de la santé qui étudie les décisions en matière de soins de santé à l'aide de méthodes quasi expérimentales, de l'apprentissage automatique et des sciences du comportement. Biographie:

Dr. Baumgartner studies exposure to environmental pollutants and their affect on human health in the context of urbanization and development. She holds a joint Ph.D. in Population Health Sciences and Environment & Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in Population and International Health from Harvard University. She was a Global Renewable Energy Leadership Fellow at the Institute on the Environment (University of Minnesota) from 2011-2013 and a visiting researcher at Tsinghua University in 2012.

La Dre Baumgartner étudie l'exposition aux polluants environnementaux et leurs effets sur la santé humaine dans le contexte de l'urbanisation et du développement. Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat conjoint en sciences de la santé de la population et en environnement et ressources de l'Université du Wisconsin-Madison et d'une maîtrise en santé de la population et internationale de l'Université Harvard. Biographie:

Originally trained in upper atmospheric and space plasma physics at M.I.T., Stanford, and Berkeley, Chris subsequently received a PhD in Economics at UBC. Chris' interests are focused on empirical and quantitative assessments of welfare, and their implications for economic, social, and environmental policy, including the pursuit of overall economic growth and material consumption expansion. In particular, his research makes use of subjective well-being reports to address the relative importance of social and community-oriented aspects of life as compared with material consumption. He uses large international as well as national surveys, experiments, and economic theoretical modeling to understand individual and aggregate consumption benefits. Chris was a Global Scholar of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), affiliated with CIFAR's research programme on Social Interactions, Identity and Well-Being.

Biographie:

Professor Maioni’s research interests include public policy and health care reform, comparative politics, and Canadian and Quebec politics. She is author and co-author of numerous articles, book chapters and articles. Her research has been funded by SSHRC, CIHR, Fulbright, Universities Canada, and the Max Bell Foundation.

Professor Maioni is an Associate Member in the Department of Family Medicine, the Department of Political Science and in the Desautels Faculty of Management. During the Fall of 2022, she was an Associate Fellow in the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna, Italy. She is currently the William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor in Canadian Studies at Harvard University for the academic year 2023-24, where she is a member of the Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and is appointed to teach in the Department of Government.

Previously, Professor Maioni served as Dean of Arts at 91ɬ�� from 2016 to 2021, and as Associate Vice President for Research and International Relations from 2014 to 2016. She has contributed to the Canadian political conversation as a columnist for the Globe and Mail and a political analyst for CTV News, She has served as President of the Canadian Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, as a member of the Board of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, as well as contributing to numerous other organizations dedicated to education, mentoring, and research. From 2023 to 2026, she will be participating as a Fellow in the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation’s Canadian Foreign Policy Research Cycle.

Biographie:

Les intérêts de recherche de la professeure Maioni comprennent les politiques publiques et la réforme des soins de santé, la politique comparée et la politique canadienne et québécoise. Elle est l’auteure et la coauteure de nombreux articles, chapitres de livres et articles. Ses recherches ont été financées par le CRSH, les IRSC, Fulbright, Universités Canada et la Fondation Max Bell.

La professeure Maioni est membre associée du département de médecine familiale, du département de science politique et de la faculté de gestion Desautels. Au cours de l’automne 2022, elle a été chercheuse associée à la School of Advanced International Studies de l’université Johns Hopkins à Bologne, en Italie. Elle est actuellement professeure invitée William Lyon Mackenzie King en études canadiennes à l’université Harvard pour l’année universitaire 2023-24, où elle est membre du programme canadien au Weatherhead Center for International Affairs et est nommée pour enseigner au département de gouvernement.

Auparavant, la professeure Maioni a été doyenne de la Faculté des arts de l’Université 91ɬ�� de 2016 à 2021 et vice-présidente associée à la recherche et aux relations internationales de 2014 à 2016. Elle a contribué à la conversation politique canadienne en tant que chroniqueuse pour le Globe and Mail et analyste politique pour CTV News. Elle a été présidente de la Fédération canadienne des sciences humaines et membre du conseil d’administration de l’Institut canadien de recherches avancées, en plus de contribuer à de nombreuses autres organisations vouées à l’éducation, au mentorat et à la recherche. De 2023 à 2026, elle participera en tant que boursière au cycle de recherche sur la politique étrangère canadienne de la Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
