 r the basic theory and skills needed to use Git and GitHub. Attendees will
  learn the value of using Git in their local projects and how to complemen
 t it with GitHub for reliable code sharing and maintenance as well as effi
 cient collaboration.   At the end of this workshop\, participants will be 
 able to:Grasp basic theory and features behind Git and GitHubKnow how to m
 anage local and remote repositoriesBegin collaborating with others over Gi
 tHubPre-requisites:Prior experience with the Unix command line.**IMPORTANT
  NOTICE: Attendance for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is subs
 idized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All other attendees such as u
 ndergraduate students and interns are required to purchase a ticket to cov
 er organizational and staffing costs. To complete your registration\, you
