 apital has become a key term in development literature since the early   1
 990s to consider the resources available to individuals and groups through
  social connections and social relations with others.    Social capital ha
 s been argued to incorporate key aspects of social organisation such as 't
 rust\, norms\, and networks' which result in enhanced economic performance
 . This talk will focus on these connections and relations in two urban loc
 ations in Southeast Asia- in Makassar\, Eastern Indonesia where small scal
 e enterprises are a common means of making a livelihood\, and in Hanoi\,  
  Vietnam\, where a number of young entrepreneurs are setting up innovative
  enterprises.\n
